We are proud to show you the official web site of Female basketball Team of Panthers Roseto, competing in Italian basketball 4th league of Regione Abruzzo. Our site contains news, pics and stats about the 14-women BBall team along with updates on games and events organized by the team society. “Born” on 2006 to take part in Female Serie B of Abruzzo-Molise, 2 central regions of Italy, Panthers Roseto finished the season second qualifying for the playoffs and losing 0-2 against Yale Pescara. In the second ever experience, the renewed team had a shy at taking the lead in overall standing giving up the first place in regular season to Adriatica Pescara, but, in any case, “Panthers” reached playoffs losing again 0-2 to fresher and younger Adriatica Basket Pescara players. Forced to regroup the team because of the lack of players, last season, 2008-2009, wasn’t so easy with strong opponents like Aurora Pescara, relegated in “B Regionale” after 1 season in 3rd female Basketball Italian League, Yale Pescara and Penne, however “white-light blue” colored team caught the 3rd place in overall standing after a 16-games season failing to dispute the playoffs, played by two teams from Pescara, New Aurora and Yale. In this upcoming season, the Panthers will have a new sponsor, an association working about anti-tumor cares and medical research called “L’Aquila per la Vita” (L’Aquila for life) located in L’Aquila, the city involved in heavy earthquake of April the 6th. We are honored to show their logo on our jerseys to help their activities and support medical cares simply playing basketball games. Along with first team another task of the sportive society is the activity of Minibasket with “Minibasket School Panthers Roseto”, born on the 2007 and counting on 20 little girls, aged 6-11 years old, who take part to the lessons based also on rhythmic music for every exercise with ball. One of the latest news is the meeting with Ettore Messina, one of the winningest European coach ever, in Roseto degli Abruzzi on Tuesday the 4 August at the well-known Arena 4 Palme outdoor court in which the neo-coach of Real Madrid will be available to be portrayed with players of Panthers Roseto.
