Panthers Roseto set to start fourth Italian league Regular Season 

On November the 14th at the PalaMaggetti female team of Panthers Roseto, supported by “L’Aquila per la Vita”, a Cancer supportive care organization, will play their opening game in Championship of regional Serie B against Adriatica Pescara, considered one of the best team along with New Aurora Pescara. For Panthers Roseto it’s the fourth straight experience in Serie B after the participation to the play-offs in the first 2 seasons and the last season third place in overall standings. Re-newed in their roster thanks to 4-5 brand new players, Panthers are trying to overcome several difficulties about the use of home court for training in Roseto, always busy in other sporting events. For the first time ever in female basketball history of Roseto, a foreign player had a tryout with Panthers in order to fill some spots and roles, now lacking in the roster of the team, and give them a little technical growth. In the waiting for the reaching of the deal, technical staff are watching at the foreign market to find some high level athletes. ‘09-‘10 Championship will have 8 teams and a regular season organized in 14 scheduled games for each team from which a second round, called “Fase ad Orologio”, will start with other 6 games a team. First two teams at top of the standings, after these 20 games, will earn playoffs spot until the final winner is going to face “Puglie Serie B” winner towards the third Italian league.
