Time to re-start for Panthers Roseto
After 5 months off, along with the summer rest, female basketball team of Panthers Roseto re-group for training camp in preparation to duties of 4th Italian league female championship (called also Serie B regionale) starting in late October. Technical staff is trying to contact some players, above all on “frontcourt spots” to complete the definitive roster that will face upcoming regular season. After the third overall standing position in last season and the 4th straight participation, panthers renewed their roster with some youngster athletes keeping the core of the 2008-2009 team. The first new of the regional Serie B tournament will be the presence of 9 teams, the first ever with more than 6 teams, including the well-known Adriatica Basket and New Aurora, both from Pescara, among the teams prospected to go “upstairs”. Head Coach will be Luigi De Bernardi, with several experiences in female basketball and at his 4th straight year with Panthers Roseto, while his assistant Luigi Di Pasquale, for 2 years also head coach of Under 19 team. For the second straight year the Presidency of the team is the role of Gianpaolo Pigliacampo, supported by Giancarlo Di Pasquale, account manager, and Cristian Palmieri, webmaster and official photographer of the team. Panthers Roseto players will wear on their jersey the ethical sponsor of “L’Aquila per la Vita”, a medical staff about supporting care and research on Tumors, placed in L’Aquila.
